Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 June 2026

POACH is a free daily football puzzle. You can play without an account, we never ask for your name, email, or any sign-up. This page explains the small amount of data the game uses.

Stored on your device

Your game progress, best scores, streaks and settings are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. This information stays on your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data resets it.

Anonymous leaderboard

To rank scores, the game generates a random, anonymous ID for your device and sends your score together with that ID to our backend (Supabase). The ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personal identity, it only lets the leaderboard show how your run compares to others.

Reminders (push notifications)

If you choose to turn on daily reminders, your browser creates an anonymous push subscription (a token from your browser's push service) which we store with your random device ID so we can send the reminder. It is not linked to your name, email, or identity. You can turn reminders off at any time, in the game's menu or your browser or device settings, which removes it.

Accounts (optional)

You can play POACH without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we store your Google account's email address and user id so your streak and history follow you across devices and so we can send the daily email reminder if you opt in. We do not see or store your Google password. You can sign out at any time, and unsubscribe from emails from any reminder or the game's menu.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people play and how far they get. It is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and reports only aggregated, anonymous numbers.

Advertising

POACH uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to POACH and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Before any ads load, you will be asked for your consent through a Google-certified consent message. You can choose to consent, not consent, or set your own preferences, and you can change your choice at any time from that message.

Children

POACH is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.
